Kyle Hill, radio journalist, KURM
Kyle Hill is currently the announcer during weekday afternoons and Sunday nights at news/talk/forum station KURM in Rogers, Arkansas. When he's not fielding phone calls during the station's signature "Dial-A-trade" program, he's behind the scenes multitasking as only a Truman grad could do: scheduling advertisements, answering phone calls, making phone calls to news sources in three states, producing advertisements, writing copy, and dealing with computer issues as they arise, since he's the only there that has ever Tweeted from city council meetings in Seligman. For all we know, he might have been the first person to ever send a Tweet from Seligman.

Kyle also spent some time in the United Kingdom observing the media climate, blogging about his experiences and current events as The Missouri Expatriate. In December 2009, he introduced Missives from Missouri, the blog that republishes the weekly capitol reports and news releases from legislators in Jeff City. Over 30 lawmakers have their reports regularly published and Missives have been cited in articles published in the Columbia Missourian, Riverfront Times and various partisan blogs.

Diane Poelker, Account Executive, Fleishman-Hillard, Inc.

Diane Poelker is an account executive at Fleishman-Hillard, Inc., practicing in the corporate issues and financial communications group. Since joining FH in June 2010, she has worked with a variety of clients including, UPS, Enterprise Holdings and AT&T, focusing on media relations, public relations strategy and executive communications.

Before joining the firm, Poelker led the online communications team at Casey Communications, Inc., a boutique public relations firm in St. Louis. There, she worked with clients such as Guarantee Electrical Company, Argent Capital Management and St. Louis Composting to develop and implement marketing communication plans that blend the strengths of online tools and traditional public relations practices. Previously, she was an intern at KETC Channel 9, St. Louis’ PBS affiliate, where she promoted Ken Burns’ 2007 documentary, The War.

As a student journalist at Truman State University, Poelker held positions at The Index and KTRM-FM.
